About Me & My Work

My name is Tanya Duarte, and I am a mixed media artist, born and raised in Brazil. I began my journey with art early on—starting with drawing, then painting, then sculpting—and soon developed an urge to combine all the techniques and mediums together to manifest the often overwhelming stream of creativity that flows through me. My insatiable curiosity and drive to create have led me to craft a variety of products such as drawings, paintings, lamps, sculpted shadow boxes, unique glow jewelry, hats, and more.

At the moment, I am known for my 'Let's Glow' company through which I sell my handcrafted glow-in-the-dark jewelry and accessories that combine high-quality stainless steel charms and pendants with true glow-in-the-dark resin. This resin has a stained-glass effect during the day and glows at night. Any light will charge my pieces—even daylight or a regular flashlight—but they glow most intensely under UV light, with certain colors glowing for up to 12 hours once fully charged.

I use mostly local materials and do my best to be ethical when sourcing materials overseas, buying in bulk to reduce my carbon footprint and always striving to give back to nature where I can. With every purchase of my work, I donate to plant a tree to support a reforestation program created by Ana Carolina Rezende through her “Tecendo Florestas” project, which reforests native tribal land in Brazil.
