About Me

My name is Tanya Duarte I am a Brazilian artist who was born in Rio de Janeiro in 1987 and raised in Bahia. I developed my passion for art at an early age and had the privilege of studding drawing and painting from the great artist Lina Miotta, from the age of 11 to 17 when I entered the Federal Fine Arts Academy in the state of Bahia (Brazil). However, I did not complete my formal studies at the university but instead decided to live fully and experience the learning process as I went along.
 

 I went in search of experiences that would inspire me to create and I learned technique as I went along. My art is the fruit of my experiences, both in the world around me, the beautiful nature and enchantment of the natural landscape and beings I encountered throughout my life, as well as the treasures I discovered in my inner landscape, on my shamanic journeys and constant quest to get to know myself and uncover the treasures buried in the shadows of the human psyche.

Sculpture, drawing, painting, digital art, lamps and fountains are my main mediums for expression, and I do use a lot of sacred geometry, symbols and indigenous patterns because they inspire me and have been powerful tools I use in my own life. 

I hope to bring out the beauty, joy and magic I have encountered through my life, and communicate the moments of paradise I have been blessed with. My art breathes the gratitude I feel and is my attempt to communicate the feelings words simply could never convey. Each piece is a bit of my heart overflowing,
and it is my intention to share it with you.
